So a fun, SUPER EASY, do it in bed while watching TV, craft!

A Super Inexpensive Bookmark...

Some Twine...this is SUPER CHEAP at Hobby Lobby...and look at how much is in that "ball"...
this "ball" will last FOREVER!!!

The Sky clears and a Ray of Sunlight Shines down on this Book!

Cut *6* lengths of the twine...be sure and give yourself PLENTY of slack or your gonna have a PROBLEM tie-ing on the Charm that goes on at the end...
WHY, you ask, do I know this....
Uuuuhhhh, cuz Kara did NOT have MORE than enough slack and trying to tie the Charm on was.....Anutha NIGHTMARE...but got it!



This is my Lap desk that i use when im in bed on the computer or doing a SMALL Craft...
 (Get aquainted with it cuz you will see it OFTEN)
Tape down all the twine at the top end...tape it GOOD!



Then seperate the 6 strands into 3 groups of 2...then Braid.
Im using my "Laaaa" book as a measure guide...AGAIN, braid MORE than enough, longer than you need, cuz NOW...

simple braid

NOW...Tie ONE Big knot with the ENTIRE group of twine

BOTH ends of the braid need to look like THIS...Plenty extra length of twine to tie on the Charm...
This end of mine was fine..Uuuuhh, the OTHER end, NOT so much...Had to pull out the TWEEZERS to tie the Charm on at that end...IT WAS GRUUUUUELING to say the least!
I FINEALLY handed it over to the HUB!

I found a few things in my Studio to use as the Ends....This CAAAAUTE lil Cross Charm....

And these Pretty lil Jewel drops....LUUUURVE these...love the Bling Bling!

Decided to go with the Cross!
  So tied it on, and knoted it 3 times, then cut off the ends of the Twine...
Then I put a Lil dab of clear glue at the base of the knots
 to help keep them from getting loose and coming apart

There she is!

Cute as can be!
Isnt this bookmark "Charming"???
Get it...CHARMing...

And I LOVE the look of ANYTHING "Natural"!   Twine, Burlap...Love it!
And using only 6 strands gives the Braid some weight, but its NOT to thick to be "Bulky" in your book...

Works like a "Charm"!!!

I used a Charm...Works like a "Charm"...Uuuhhh, yeah...I know....Kara, REALLY???

So the OCD in me couldnt let that Bling Bling go UN-DONE!
These are in the Bead section of Hobby Lobby or Michaels...or your local Craft store

This is a BIT different because there is a Hole that runs THROUGH the top of these...Like, there is not a loop ring on top as there was with the Charm...so you have to run the twine through the gem and double it back up to the other end
(This is kinda hard to explain...are yall confused yet?   Cuz I AM, and I MADE the dern thing!)

See, its just 1 LONG piece of twine, pulled thru and back to the end....then cut your piece of twine...
GIVING yourself PLENTY of slack!
:0)

Now, tie in a knot 2 times

So you should have 2 of these...One for each end

Lay out the length

Then you will need to cut the 3rd gouping of 2 strands...So you should be at *6* strands total...
then secure the Top end with tape again to hold in place while you Braid

Its taped down secure and Im Braiding like a Hairdresser...
Braiding THIS SMALL is a lil tuff...ESPICIALLY with da Hoochie Nails!
HEY!  I MIGHT could make some $$$ on da side doin Hair Extensions!

NOW!  When you get to the end of THIS Bookmark, tie All the Extra length of strands into knots...like 3 times, just to have the ends secured tightly...AGAIN, a dab of glue at the base of the knots is good to secure the knot from loosening

Ive knotted the ends several times so it looks like this

Then clip the extra ends of twine off...
Then I Frayed the ends cuz I thought it would make it look a lil tattered!
HEY!  I see a JOKE here...
  What did the twine say to the Jewel when the Jewel asked the Twine "Are ya Hangin in there Buddy?"... the Twine said "Im A Frayed Knot!"  
 Get it???  
A Frayed = Afraid
Knot = Not!
I know...SHUT UP Kara!!!

There it is!  LOVE the Bling Bling!

Again...Love the Natural look of the Twine!
