What? no Linky police????whatever will we do?

All looks gor ga fied! Is that good and Texan?

I have worn "hootchie nails" for 15 years. Even when I couldn't hold my head up from my poison chemo...my hubs would sit me in the chair and I would get my nails done. You can't wear big ole pretty rings without hoochie nails...at least, that is my story!!

My hubby uses plain coated paper (he's an Engineer who used to work at a paper mill, so he has roooolllls of the stuff). If he's feeling really frisky, he'll splurge on newsprint. Yes, newsprint. Be happy that your hubby at least uses actual wrapping paper =P Now, my hubby needs a talkin to. He never leaves me nice blog comments. Ooooo, he's in BIG trouble! Santa momma don't play nice when she's feeling wronged =)

Kara- you are having way too much fun to be left alone with ribbon! LOL!
Love it all- and your wit is so much fun! I will be here with bells on tomorrow...LOL

Uggghhhh!! That's me gagging over here on all that sweetness from the hubby. HAHA!! I'm drooling over the island! Speaking of hubby's, mine would die if I covered the island & he didn't a spot to lay out the newspaper! I'm with you on the nails. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!! I didn't take mine off while I was decorating but waited for a refill & you should've seen the looks on the little ladies face!

Oh forgot to ask.... how on earth do you do anything with nails that size???? I did have 'hoochie nails' once, years ago but couldn't get used to them, especially while typing or writing!!!

You know I'm rockin' the "Hoochie Nails" right there with ya! LOL. I'm loving all of the festiveness going on in your house. What a great idea of adding the garland right down the middle of your island! And, your mantle is Christmas beauty ... the embellishments on your stockings are too fab! And, how fun you're going to host a par-tay! I'll have to share something fo' shizzle (said like you might). :) Hugs, Becca

Simplistic can be perfect? What about any of those decorations was simple!? Holy cow I wouldn't like to see what you would call excessive! I LOVE the decorations though, it all looks so beautiful.

NanaDiana said...

Yeah...but do you have a hootchie dress to go with the hootchie nails? just asking....

Everything is looking great Kara...and I will check in to read but not join tomorrow. I have a long week at work ahead of me and 3 concerts 3 nights in a row...gotta love those little kids' concerts! Uhhuh..

You are too funny with your Hoochie Mama nails! I wore them for several years but it wears me out "wasting" that hour getting them done! But it is amazing how those nails stand up to a lot of abuse and still look great!
Your home looks amazing!

Wow, don't know where to start on complimenting all the beauty of your home!!! You've done an amazing job....... I really love the idea of the lights on the kitchen island.....I've gotta do that!

Love your attitude and your hoochie nails!
Hugs!

Love all your hard work and attention to detail!
Everything looks so beautiful and warm. Your front door is amazing! I tried the hoochie nails for a while, but found them too cumbersome..they do make the fingers look longer though, so that can be a good thing! Love your positive attitude! Happy Holidays! Liz

Kara, so many words come to mind when viewing all your wonderful pictures...hmmm, here we go:

Beautiful, gorgeous, elegant, amazing, classy, warm, inviting, cozy, comfortable, divine, brilliant, dazzling, charming, cheerful, creative, exquisite, imaginative, joyful, marvelous, tranquil, and joyful. Really, I could go on and on.

Girl, I have to give you HUGE props for all of your amazingly hard work you’ve done. All of the trees you've shared and your tutorials, well, I think you are AMAZING!!

Lovin' you HOOCHIE nails. I need to get me some! ;) Your rings are fabulous. Thanks so much for sharing. I keep coming back to look at all the prettiness, I hope you don't mind...lol!

I probably haven't had enough caffeine yet, because I can't see to find your hubby's comment. lol!

Have a wonderful day! XOXO ~Liz

Hi Kara,
Just found your blog and love it! I'm a Texan too...lived in Amarillo 10 years...in the DFW area now. I have a dear friend that lives in Brownfield now. When I visit her, perhaps we'll take a little jaunt to Lubbock and visit your shop! How fun that would be ~ :-)

I had "hoochie" nails for years and loved them. I haven't had them for awhile now and have been very tempted to go back. I just moved and my hands are horrible! You encourage me ~
