I just became a follower this morning! Love the chocolate truffle tree. The silver, gold and brown look so elegant. About those candles....I am obsessed with the battery powered ones! I am picky about the ones I choose because I find that the colored ones don't shine enough light through. I get bored with the ivory ones though! =o)Does the light shine through these dark glittery ones? Where might we find these pretties? I did see some at Michaels that looked like these.

Yep, these are my colors! I always do things when they aren't IN. I did browns years ago. This year I went with black, a deeper red with dark green and browns, mixing my metals in.
The tree in the kitchen is in pinks, reds and yellows.
I have wanted to ask someone this for a long time now. It's about the mercury glass. My parents and grandparents knew people who actually got sick because of this vintage glass when it broke- so it was always taboo when I was a kid. My mom told me that they quit making it because too many had been poisoned by it. I have always steered clear of it antiquing.
The new reproduction stuff isn't really mercury glass is it? There is no danger with the new stuff, right?
I love the looks of it, but I'm afraid.
I figure if anyone would know it would be you.

Wow! Looks great...Mavahlous, darling...Mavahlous! I am loving all the chocolate I am seeing this year. Do you know there was a "chocolate" craze...maybe in the 40's?...and I found chocolate hats with chocolate plumes in MyHero's grandmother's wardrobe...and she had some beautiful big "chocolate velvet" roses. My sister-in-law was on those like a tick on a coon dog.... SOOO glad I found you now instead of after Christmas. I am coming here for my daily fix of pretty! Hugs-Diana
